¿Qué es RAMA?

We are a collective of people from diverse backgrounds and with varying relationships to borders committed to migrant justice.

RAMA started as a migrant justice collective supporting Latin American and Caribbean “temporary” migrant farmworkers in the Okanagan Valley in 2013. Since then, RAMA has expanded to support migrant workers in multiple occupations regardless of immigration status. Our aim is to respond to the needs identified by migrant workers.

  • Advocating for workers’ rights and freedoms at the level of the municipal, provincial and federal governments
  • Collaborating with other migrant rights organizations to advance advocacy work
  • Supporting migrant workers by connecting them to community, legal and health services
  • Coordinating free English lessons for migrant workers while enabling social connections and providing information about workers’ rights
  • Building and maintaining relationships with workers and helping them navigate systemic difficulties they often face
